NCH pilot featured as case study in Wood for Good

Our Nottingham City Homes pilot is featured as an envelope improvements case study in the Wood for Good!

The homes are radically improved to 2050 standards of energy efficiency with the application of new super insulated and airtight timber framed panels that are craned onto new insulated foundation and wrap around
the exterior of each home. The new wall panels are prefabricated offsite and arrive in full-storey-heights complete with ample insulation, high performance windows and doors and a durable board finish.

Offsite prefabrication reduces waste, impact on-site and ensures quality workmanship. Extending the design life of the existing homes by 60 years avoids the considerable waste and embodied carbon that would be produced by an alternative demolish and rebuild approach.
