Andover Estate Affordable Workspace On Fashion Capital

Andover Estate affordable designer workshops featured on Fashion Capital: From Disused Car Park to Designer Workspace.

Last Thursday Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) welcomed over 60 individuals, made up of community groups, the GLA and Islington Councillor’s, to its fully equipped FC Designer Workspace.

Occupying empty and underused garages on the Andover Estate the project forms an integral part of the regeneration of the estate, also being undertaken by Studio Partington. Working in collaboration with Islington Council and as part of the boroughs Affordable Workspace initiative, the project addresses the need for accessible and affordable workspace for creative groups within their own community, whilst providing improved and active street frontages. Comprising studios, workshop and light industrial units it will be supplemented by a programme providing mentoring and support for the whole community of all ages and abilities.
