Commendation for a distinguished contribution to Richmond!
Last week Adam and Suzanne attended the Richmond Society Awards where our project to renovate the interior of Duke Street Church received a commendation for a distinguished contribution to Richmond! The project, which aims to strike a balance between celebrating and enhancing the 1960s character of the space, while providing a transformed, contemporary and versatile interior to support the growth of the church and community use. The renovation was nominated by architect and conservation specialist Paul Velluet. Paul very generously described the project as a “brilliant transformation… providing a vastly improved meeting space – not only for public worship, but importantly, for diverse community uses.”
We would like to thank Paul for his kind words as well as Deputy Mayor, Cllr Rhi Lee for presenting awards and Richmond Society Vice Chair Louise Fluker for hosting such a brilliant evening. Congratulations to the worthy winning team for the thoughtful conservation of Marble Hill house interior and park.
