Part L 2021 Where to start: Masonry and Timber Construction guides are live

Studio Partington produced these guidance publications on behalf of the Future Homes Hub to help housebuilders, designers, and others involved in the development of new homes to understand the 2021 changes to Approved Document L – Conservation of fuel and power in new dwellings in England (ADL 2021). The guides explain the main implications of the changes and the interaction with other Building Regulations including Approved Document O - Overheating (ADO 2021).

The guides give worked examples of some typical homes outlining a combination of measures that are achievable with masonry and timber construction to give a broad understanding of the specifications that may be adopted as a starting point for good design.
