Mentoring site visit to Andover Estate

Sunny morning for a site visit as part of RIBA future architects student mentoring scheme. Studio Partington associate Suzanne Davenport and director Adam Cornish welcomed 3 University of Westminster third year architecture students to Andover Estate. We viewed our nearly complete apartments (100% social housing, 2 flats per floor, meets space standards, dual aspect, each flat has 2 balconies), visited our community workspace car park conversion, and walked through the estate taking in new connections, planting and playgrounds (being enjoyed during half term). Thank you to Quinn London Ltd and Fashion-Enter Ltd/ FashionCapital for hosting us.

Thank you to Fashion Enter founder Jennifer Holloway who met with the students to provide a client’s perspective reflecting on the project successes (Fashion Enter have smashed their TOMs targets) and lessons learned. Jenny also offered her advice to the students about learning from users’ expertise and having confidence in your ability (fronting) to build trust in a project team. Great insights!
