Our social rent housing for Dacorum Borough Council in Hemel Hampstead is now complete!

Our social rent housing for Dacorum Borough Council in Hemel Hempstead is now complete with families moving in, some moving out of temporary accommodation. Very pleased to visit with Ian Johnson from Dacorum and hear about the positive reactions from residents.

The prominent town centre site acquired from Homes England is close to the town centre and amenity and wildlife areas. Our Architects’ Journal competition winning design provides 58 social rent apartments in three buildings that respond to the steeply sloped site, integrated by communal gardens and connections to adjacent meadows and woodland.

The design also includes generous living space and balconies to each apartment, ground floor apartments for wheelchair users, adequate parking with EV chargers, “fabric first” approach, triple glazing, communal ASHPs, play area and sustainable drainage systems.

Client’s view: Why build Mountbatten View? In recent years, there has been increased demand for new high quality rented accommodation in Hemel Hempstead. Dacorum Borough Council is at the forefront of providing social rented housing in the area for those in the greatest need and is committed to providing new social rent housing to meet this demand. The Mountbatten View site’s proximity to the town centre, rail and road links made it an ideal location for much needed housing in the area.
